Theft Proof Terminators Theft Proof Terminators

Corning Gilbert introduces the newest members of our theft deterrent line of terminators. These products bring new features and benefits to the already largest line of terminator products in the CATV industry.

This new family of theft deterrent terminators is designed to provide optimal performance in typical field installations. They provide a weather-resistant, high performance termination when installed in less than optimal environments.
With moisture being a leading cause of terminator problems, these new products focus on the elimination of moisture entry paths. Typical terminators allow moisture to enter the rear of the terminator and migrate to the male interface. This causes corrosion and can lead to intermodulation (CPD) issues. To prevent this from happening, the interior components of Corning Gilbert’s terminators are machined from solid brass. No press fits of components are used to block water migration. There is an o-ring between the rotating components of the connector. This provides a fully weather-resistant terminator even then the drop cable is not parked on the rear of the terminator.
By using all brass material and nickel plating for all exposed parts, the interaction that occurs between dissimilar metals is eliminated. This prevents the terminator from “locking up” and being easily removed even in highly corrosive environments.

Ground Blocks Ground Blocks

Corning Gilbert has added a new member to its broad line of bonding and grounding products. The new GGB-GHZ-3 design focuses on the two most critical issues with a ground block, grounding performance and RF performance.

Long term grounding performance is ensured by using a high performance nickel plating. This plating shows no degradation in grounding performance after 1000 hours of salt fog testing.
The contact design is all metal Beryllium Copper (BeCu) and does not depend on plastic to maintain high contact forces. Plastic is only used for centering the contact and for guiding the cable center conductor into the contact. This design ensures long term contact performance in higher temperatures that are commonly seen in modern installations. This helps to prevent any intermodulation (CPD) issues related to light spring contact.
The port length is sized to use standard GSR-1/2 seal rings. This allows for a water tight seal on both sides of the ground block. All port faces are flat to provide the maximum contact area for correct grounding. All port dimensions meet SCTE recommendations for outdoor F female ports.

Corning Gilbert’s next generation of high frequency drop products are designed for the highest electrical performance while maintaining excellent extended reliability.
The cylindrical contact design has four points of contact, not the two found in most round high performance products. Contacts are manufactured from Beryllium Copper to ensure reusability while maintaining high contact force.
All F-female ports have a flat reference plane for maximum surface contact. F-females are machined from brass and nickel plating for maximum corrosion resistance.
